1520 Smallman Street, Strip District | 12 pm - 4 pm

YOUR EXPERIENCE

Visitors will hear about the future plans and see renderings of what the former Wholey’s Cold Storage site will become, as it begins its transformation into a new innovative space, mirroring the cutting edge technologies being created here in Pittsburgh.

ABOUT THIS BUILDING

On the site where the former Wholey’s cold storage warehouse (yes, the one with the smiling fish sign) once sat, the New York-based Acram Group and AM/ Woolly Group have begun demolition and site prep for a new space.

Honoring the unique differences between Downtown and the Strip District, the plan includes a pinwheel of four towers that range between 20- and 24-stories tall. The shorter ones are nearer the Strip and the tallest tower is on the Downtown side, creating a “step down” effect. The plan also calls for green roofs and will be developed as a LEED Gold and WELL Gold building with the ability to accommodate modern office tenants and robotics labs.
